Griggs Pulls Trigger

2013 West Lafayette (Ind.) tight end Ben Griggs talks about choosing Walsh University and ending his recruiting process inside.

The recruiting process is over for West Lafayette (Ind.) High senior tight end Ben Griggs.

"I gave my verbal to Walsh University, a division two college, in Canton, Ohio," Griggs said.

Although Griggs was receiving interest from plenty of division one programs such as Western Michigan, Kentucky, Illinois State and Purdue -- there were several things that stood out to Griggs about his eventual choice.

"The biggest reason why I chose Walsh was the coaches," Griggs said.

"They won a national championship at Marion in Indianapolis," Griggs said. "They just took the coaching jobs at Walsh."

That move was the biggest reason why Griggs chose Walsh University.

"Coach Karras the head coach and Sherman the offensive coordinator were exactly what I was looking for," Griggs said.
