Fred Decker Day
Fred Decker
By
Scott Mohler
Posted May 12, 2004
An end of an era will be celebrated this Saturday, May 15 at Hyames Field. Fred Decker’s 29-year career at WMU will be honored during a home game against MAC rival Kent State.
29-cent hot dogs, Decker checkers, and WMU baseball alumni will all be part of a day dedicated to Fred Decker.
The day starts with a 1pm home game at Hyames Field, and as always admission if free. The game is part of a 3-game series that will be Decker’s final home series of his career.
That evening the celebration moves to the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Kalamazoo. The evening will include a 6:30 social and 7:15 dinner and program.
