Advisory Committe Selected

KALAMAZOO - Western Michigan University Director of Athletics Kathy Beauregard announced today that she has appointed a five-member advisory committee to assist in the selection of a new head football coach.

Committee members are Gary Mathews, WMU faculty member and chair of the Athletic Board; Diane Anderson, Vice President of Student Affairs; George Franklin, Vice President of External Relations for the Kellogg Company; Lew Walker, WMU faculty emeriti and Gary Fund campaign chair; Chuck Comer, WMU faculty emeriti and former Bronco assistant football coach; along with student representatives Mark Hardy and Jack Gitler, departing seniors on the football team.

"I am pleased to have the guidance and input of this distinguished group of individuals," Beauregard said. "Their expertise will be extremely valuable during the search process."

A new coach is expected to be hired by mid-December.
