Quotes From Incoming Players

Player Quotes

We caught up with several of the incoming players today as they reported to Zimmerman Hall. Here are some quotes and observations. We'll have additional reports as we speak to the rest of the incoming class.

Jonathan Jones - 6-2, 290, DT
Bakersfield College

Definitely a member of the "all airport team." Very imposing physically and looks the part as well as anyone that reported today. Being that he has only two years of eligibility left, look for him to play early and often.

"I have been working out three times a week with a personal trainer in Chicago. I'm ready to go."

Jones is originally from Chicago and he is one player I personally am looking forward to seeing on the field. He is huge physically and if his movement and explosion is there look for him to immediately help against the run.

Hausia Faleofa - 6-2, 250, DE
College of the Canyons

Either he won the lottery yesterday or he is the most pleasant personality I've been around in a long time. I spent two hours with him and he literally never stopped smiling! Great young man that looks like he is in great shape and has nothing but positive things to say about coach Holliday and Western in general.

"I came here because of coach Holliday. He recruited me and I came here pretty much because of him. I can't wait to get started."

We are going to be deep at defensive end this year and he will certainly garner playing time. Interesting that he never visited Kalamazoo or Western until the spring game. He put a lot of faith in coach Holliday to commit here without even visiting! Again, an excellent mannered young man that is hard not to like. Quiet but very polite and cannot stop smiling:)

Robbie Haas - QB, 6-2, 195
Ricks College

Recently married (two weeks ago today), Haas seems ready to get things started. He says he visits Broncos Illustrated all the time and was very pleasant to talk to. He remembered our interview in the spring and he will be one we continue to follow closely throughout his career here.

"I feel great and am glad to be here. I got here Tuesday and am ready to get out there."

Haas has four years to play three so unless he blows up in fall practice look for him to red shirt. Very personable young man that will me a media favorite here in Kalamazoo.

Chad Munson - QB, 6-3, 210
Compton College

Late arrival due to the car accident he was in with roommate Eugene Childs but was very upbeat and ready for the media attention. He spent a good amount of time with us talking about the accident as well as his preparation for this year.

"I love it here. Most places have either big receivers that are slow or small receivers that are fast. The guys here are big and can fly. I think we are going to do some big things here."

Overall with the hype surrounding him to come in and "be the man" so soon he was very modest and seemed very team oriented. Only spoke about team aspects, great sign from a QB.

Eugene Childs - CB, 6-2, 195
Compton College

Rough ride getting here with the car accident but considering he was going 50 MPH and rolled his truck he looked to be just fine. Very lucky! He looks to be in excellent shape and is pretty physically imposing for a cornerback. Good sign for the Broncos.

"I've been doing a lot of explosion work this summer. My 40 right now is around a 4.4 and I feel great. I chose Western mainly because of the coaches as well as other guys that came here like Chad [Munson] and Wille [Pope]."

I was with him right after he returned from his X-Rays and he is good to go. He has a wrap on his shoulder but he will be fine. When the truck rolled he got a lot of glass in his shoulder but he says that is all out and there is no infection. He'll be fine and looks to be in great physical condition.

Paul Tithof - LB, 6-1, 200
Oakley, MI

Freshman that says he has been planning on attending Western since he was a sophomore in high school. Comes from the same school as current Broncos Anthony Turner and Adam Anderson.

"I'm excited and can't wait to get going. I've been living with [Anthony] Turner this summer."

Probable red shirt candidate as he fills out and learns the system but it is a good sign he was so set to play for Westen even as a sophomore in high school!
