How has your experience at Western been thus far?
It's a little more demanding here. They place a lot of emphasis on study and on meetings and stuff like that. So we're spending a lot of time in the play book and with coach Enos working routes out so mentally it wears you out in addition to the physical part.

Talk about married life
There is a lot of responsibility that comes with it that I need to do but at the same time the support she gives me I think outweighs all those things. I think of it as a great advantage. She's been great and really has helped me to get through this.

What is your opinion of your progress thus far?
I didn't really now what to expect coming in but I really enjoy it here. There are some really great people on this team. I think the team as a whole is very talented and we have some great athletes especially at receiver. I really enjoy being a part of it right now. I'm learning the offense and starting to grasp it to where I can go out there and play and not think a lot out there and that is the point I want to get to.

How is the team overall with a week or so until the opener?
I think offensively we're doing a lot of good things right now, the offeneive line has stepped up in a lot of ways. They have some great athletes there and they have been solid so far in camp. Jon, Blayne and Chad have all been doing really well and have picked up the offense well. Jon knows it really well because he has been here a long time and I actually think the offense is farther ahead than they usually are at this point.

What are your expectations this year?
I can into camp and want to compete for the job. I don't want to sit back in the shadows, I want to compete. I think the coaches kind of are looking for me to red shirt maybe a little bit. I'll do whatever they ask me to do but I'm going to make sure that I'm prepared in case something does happen and I'm called upon and they need me to play and I'll do it.

Any players particularly impressive in fall camp?
Some of those defensive guys are pretty amazing like Jason Babin and Anthony Allsbury and Chris Browning. Guys with that size, speed and strength. At Ricks you see that a little bit but not everybody is like that like here. Jermaine Lewis is a great athlete. I think Jon does a lot of good things at quarterback. I really enjoy it here, I like being part of things here.
