Gray Picks Broncos

Desmond Gray

We spoke to Cass Tech standout Desmond Gray less than a week ago, right before he left for his official visit to Western Michigan, and he eight schools on his list with no clear leader. On that visit everything changed -- for the better if you are a Bronco fan.

"My top choice now is definitely Western Michigan, I committed there on my visit," said Gray. "I just loved the visit and I committed to coach Darnell before I left."

So what made the decision so easy?

"It was a lot of things really," said Gray. "I really liked the coaches and the options I have at Western Michigan. I felt like it was a great fit and I enjoy the surroundings there."

Gray (6-4, 260), who is being recruited as a defensive lineman, says he is probably done taking visits.

"Coach Darnell said he is fine with me taking some visit but there are others he doesn't want me to take or at least let him know if I am going to take them," he said.

Before his visit, Gray said he and his mother wanted to verify all they had been told by Bronco coaches during his recruitment. And?

"Everything they said - all the promises they made - happened," said Gray. "My mother felt they were very honest and that I was going to be in good hands at Western."

Gray said he had no doubts as to the most impressive part of his visit.

"I love that new indoor facility, it was tight," said Gray. Recommended Stories
