Future 'Keys' to Success?

Oseloka Keys

One of the most athletic quarterbacks in Michigan will be taking his game to the next level in Kalamazoo next fall. Ann Arbor Pioneer standout Oseloka Keys gave a verbal to coach Enos on Tuesday and he said he is 100% positive Western Michigan is where he wants to be.

At 6-3 and 185 pounds Keys possesses 4.59 speed which will make him very versatile at the college level. Expect him to possibly move to another position to take advantage of his athleticism. Keys officially visited Western Michigan last weekend and he was hosted by wide receiver Brandon Johnson. He was very impressed with his first college visit.

"My parents came with me and the visit was great," said Keys. "The academic support they have was impressive. There were a lot of things I liked. It was my first visit so there was a lot of things new to me. I really liked the indoor facility."

Keys also talked about wanting to stay close to home to play his college ball.

"Western is a good fit because it is close enough to home but yet I'm still 'going away' to college," said Keys.

Keys said his parents were sold on a single statistic while on the visit with him.

"When they saw that Western graduates 90% of their athletes I think they were sold right then," said Keys.

Keys, who also plays basketball for Pioneer, said he plans to study secondary education while at Western.

So how did he get turned on to Western Michigan at the start?

"Coach Enos is recruiting me and he actually played with my uncle (CB Eddie Brown) at Michigan State."

Keys had a very successful senior season where he led his team to a 9-3 record and a quarterfinal showing at states. He threw for over 1,800 yards and had 18 touchdown passes and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 579 yards and five touchdowns.

Keys was originally set to visit Central Michigan today, Toledo on the 24th and Bowling Green on the 31st but he says he will not make those visits now that he is committed.
