Broncos Conclude Tourney With 88-65 Win Over UAF

FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- The Western Michigan University men's
basketball team (1-2) picked up its first win of the season with a
88-65 win over Alaska Fairbanks at the BP Top of the World Classic,
hosted by the Nanooks.
Four Broncos finished with double figures in points, led by senior
guard Ben Reed's 17. Classmate Levi Rost chipped in 14 points and
freshman Joe Reitz collected his first career double double,
collecting 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Western Michigan closed the first half with a 17-0 run over the
final 4:33 to break the game open.
Every available player on the Bronco roster saw action and all but
one scored at least two points. Freshmen Dan Hess and Derek Fracalossi netted their respective first career points.
WMU's largest lead in the second half was 31 points, which came on
a jumper by Reed. The Nanooks would get no closer than 18 points the
rest of the way.
UAF shot just 39.7 percent from the field and WMU dominated the
boards, finishing with a 49-27 advantage overall. The Broncos
finished with an 18-7 margin on the offensive end.
WMU returns home to face Loyola on Mondy, Nov. 29 in the team's
next action.
