Broncos Extend Winning Streak At Home.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) -- Ben Reed scored a game-high 36 points, tying a career high, leading Western Michigan to an 84-75 victory Saturday over Akron.
It was the 23rd consecutive home win -- the second-longest streak in the nation behind Wisconsin‘s 35 -- for Western (10-3, 3-0 Mid-Amercan), the defending MAC champion.
Darryl Peterson led Akron (7-5, 1-3) with 18 points. Rick McFadden scored 15, Cedrick Middleton had 13 and Romeo Travis, 11. Levi Rost added 18 points for Western and Joe Reitz scored 12. Rost also had a game-high nine rebounds, as Western outrebounded its 12 opponent this season, 40-32.
Three consecutive baskets by Reed -- two of them 3-pointers -- led the Broncos back from a six-point deficit, giving them a 65-63 lead with 7:28 left. Reed hit 12-of-19 shots and had three assists, playing a game-high 35 minutes. He had a slam dunk and converted two free throws in the game‘s final minute.
Reed has scored 62 points in his last two games.
