| Biography: |
| Paul is the fastest skater on the team. He's gifted with a natural stride, but has also improved speed through running, playing soccer and lifting weights. He excels at killing penalties. Paul has been used to shadow opposing team's top player on occasion. He was chosen by this teammates to be an assistant captain for this season. He has worn No. 15 his entire playing career (since age 6) and had to fend of three teammates for the number his freshman season. He attended Lake Superior State games as a youth and his favorite player was Doug Weight. His sister, Melissa, ran track at Lake State.
As a Sophomore Paul earned CCHA All-Academic Special Mention and he received the Peter R. Ellis Academic Award. He tied for fifth in CCHA short-handed goals (2). Paul recorded a six game point streak. He was chosen Broncos Player of the Week after compiling two points and helping negate 15-of-16 power player attempts against Michigan. Paul earned No. 3 Star with a goal versus No. 6 Nebraska-Omaha. He also contributed a goal and an assist at Michigan State. He scored WMU's lone goal at Lake Superior State and he scored empty net goals from mid-ice to seal wins over Sacred Heart and Northern Michigan. Paul scored short-handed versus Ferris State and notched a power play goal against No. 7 Maine. He is a WMU Scholar-Athlete.
As a freshman Paul showed a burst of speed in scoring game's first goal against Michigan. He posted first career goal against Merrimack at the Silverado Shootout. Paul placed four shots on goal versus Dartmouth. He also excelled on the penalty-killing units. |
